Her Flame

Hailey Flores, writer

The simplest touch from you burns me with desire

But I can’t have your flame

For once I touch it disappears into smoke

The longer I glaze at your fiery flame

The more I long to make it mine

But that would be selfish of me

For you’re not mine

I keep reminding myself that

For you are someone else’s light

Your flame is what keeps him away from the darkness

Longing just for one day to have your light

While I’m forever trapped in this endless pit of darkness

The one that has once saved me from this darkness

This dark desire…

But fate has its own plans

Mine was to forever be left in the dark…

Like I am now…

That scares me…
