Altrusa Club of America

The Altrusa Club of America is accepting donations to Free The Girls of Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Mozambique.  Free The Girls is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping sex trafficking survivors pave a road to true freedom. The problem they try to fix is sex exploitation, they estimate that 40 million people around the world live under human exploitation. They provide these bras, that are being donated by the students and staff, to survivors of sex trafficking to start a way of income.

The Altrusa Club of America is a service organization for women, that includes men, that helps fund services for literacy, exploitation, and poverty. Their mission statement is “Improving economic well being and quality of life through a commitment to community service and literacy. Started in the 1900’s this club has taken bounds in both national and foreign affairs making the world a better and safer place. This club is spread over the nation in every state making peoples lives easier and better.

If you would like to become involved in the works of the Altrusa Club of America, Artesia has its very own Altrusa Club. They meet every other Monday and 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church. Contact Mrs. Kelley for more information on what they do in a whole. These services can be used for service hours in any activity that service hours are needed. We all can make a difference, you just have to take the step to start making it.
