The Artesia High volleyball team had their first home game at the Bulldog Pit on Tuesday, September 10th. The girls took on Clovis in a three set series winning each and every game. The Dogs’ came over the Wildcats with a final of 25-16, ending on an ace by Makinli Taylor. The second set was wrapped up quicker than the first, 25-12, the Bulldogs on top again. The third and final set the Dog’s finished the game 25-15 in the 3rd set.

The team this year is smaller in comparison to the past teams; nonetheless, the girls are just as talented. The seniors returning: Elliot Harrison, Sadie Ramirez, and Makinli Taylor. Juniors and Sophomores include: Kaylee Wagner, Ashley Hogan, Brooke Kinnibrugh, Presley Skinner, RyLeigh Greer, and Cora Cox. The girls this year are competitive, while also keeping games fun. The girls were supported by the AHS football team with their chests painted with various numbers and symbols. The win over Clovis at home leaves the girls record at 6-0.

The Bulldogs will take on the Hobbs Eagles next at the Bulldog Pit on September 17th. Good luck to the girls and we wish you the best of luck this season.
