Bulldogs Win Big Over Eagles

The Bulldogs took on the Hobbs Eagles on Friday night. The Dogs came out strong in the first quarter with Houghtaling to Davis for a 6-yd touchdown. Hobbs fought back with a 6-yd touchdown to tie the score 7-7. The Rodriguez flew down the sideline with a 85-yd return, 14-7 Artesia. Ortega then took over the field with an interception and score, 21-7. Barrera takes the  ball in from the 5 scoring another 7 for Artesia in the first quarter.

Second Quarter Ortega recovers a fumble, first and goal. Houghtaling to McDonald for a 11-yd touchdown, 35-7. Before the half, Houghtaling to Rodriguez for an 18-yd score. In the third quarter, Cueto took the ball from kickoff 90-yd for an immediate Bulldog touchdown. Eagles finally answer back with a 60-yd pass for a touchdown, 48-14. McDonald takes the ball another 51-yd for his second touchdown of the night. Going into the fourth Artesia leads Hobbs 62-21.

The final score Artesia 62, Hobbs 28. The Bulldogs record improves 1-1 while the Eagles record falls to 2-0. The Football team played an outstanding game. The momentum of this win will project the Dogs into their next game at Belen High School to take on their second set of Eagles.
